If there is something wrong with mousehunt then there is something wrong with the whole of our lives. the only problem with it is that it is a distraction from our studies. but - to ban us from it will not work. on the first level - people will work a way past the proxy. not working? they'll hack into it. still doesn't work?

An Update

As you may or may not know, MH Finance just went through a small ordeal trying to get itself back on its feet. I wanted to give a quick overview for those who are interested.

With the old system, to update the price of SUPER|Brie+, I had to log into Facebook then run a script. The script would parse through the discussion board titles looking for submissions such as "2000pp", "1500 ea", etc. This was a bit inefficient because it only looked at the titles, not the content. It also was not able to look at the actual trading price of the cheese, only offered selling and buying price.

On October 3, 2009, the Facebook discussion boards broke. When trying to access page "5", it would say that there were no posts, yet it would display xx of xxxxxx entries. I figured it might be a quick fix, but like a lot of things on Facebook, it still, as of today, is not fixed.

Recently, I was contacted by the developers of MH Finance to be able to be provided the actual trading price of the cheese. This allowed me to create MH Finance to reflect the actual price being traded. This opportunity also allows for the addition of a few things:

- Prices are now updated 24x7, 365 days a year (except for when MouseHunt is in maintenance)
- Prices are updated automatically without having me to sit there and run the script
- The price reflects the actual trading price which creates a more accurate trend for the way SB is moving

So where is MH Finance planning to go? First of all, this application only supplements MouseHunt and is not itself a moneymaker or anything like that. I won't be putting ads on the site or making it anything more than just a place for price aggregation.

Some people have suggested that I make it work with MythMonger or other FB applications that trade commodities for real world currency. At this time, I do not have enough resources to make this a possibility.

At this time, MH Finance will remain standing and collecting data. If anyone has suggestions or feedback, I have a small support forum set up at http://getsatisfaction.com/mousehunt_finance. Also, if you would like to write news articles for MH Finance, please send me a FB message. I'm looking for a couple of people to keep things engaging.

Enjoy & happy hunting!

Thank You, MouseHunters

Hey everyone! It doesn't look like FB is too eager to fix the discussion board problem. Because we don't feel like developing a new way to get SB prices, we're going to officially close MH Finance. Thank you everyone who participated and made it interesting. Good hunting!
